Students and Mentorship

Develop your research journey.

Supervision, completed research and teaching approaches for students and emerging researchers.

Students and emerging researchers

Questions are where
good research begins.

I teach and supervise research in cybersecurity, digital forensics, AI and related computing fields. My teaching emphasises curiosity, practical enquiry, constructive feedback and the ability to find and test solutions.

My completed supervision record includes doctoral and research master’s work on child online protection, smart-water anomaly detection, digital evidence, intrusion detection and risk management.

Registered students and supervisors can use the Supervision and Mentorship Hub for research submissions, feedback and progress reporting.

Preparing your enquiry

  1. Introduce your academic background and intended study level.
  2. Explain the problem you want to investigate and why it matters.
  3. Identify relevant work in the publication library and outline your proposed direction.
  4. Include a brief concept note, CV, intended start date and funding position where known.

Supervision depends on research fit, capacity and the university’s admissions requirements. Course administration and submissions should use the official university channels.

Research-led learning

Teaching and curriculum.

Teaching, assessment and programme development connect disciplinary depth with professional practice and African development contexts.

POSTGRADUATE

Cybersecurity and digital forensics

Teaching includes Applied Cryptography, Advanced Intrusion and Log Analysis, Security Analytics, Mobile Forensics, and Research Methodology and Mini-thesis.

UNDERGRADUATE

Computing foundations

Experience teaching Distributed Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, C Programming, Computer Organisation and Architecture, and Visual Basic Programming.

CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT

Programmes built for practice

Led curriculum documentation for Digital Forensics Honours and Information Security Honours; contributed to master’s and doctoral Cyber Security programmes, Bachelor of Cyber Security revision and joint-degree needs analysis.

My teaching connects theory with laboratories, scenarios, projects, constructive feedback and practical research questions. I support students in developing independent judgement and the ability to test ideas.
